Internet Safety

By the end of 2007, it is estimated that there will be approximately 1.5 billion people online, a large segment of which will be children, pre-teens, teens, and young adults. In a recently published Canadian research paper called, “Young Canadians In A Wired World”, 99% of youth interviewed stated that they had surfed the Internet, and 78% stated that they have home access to the World Wide Web. When you consider the fact that in the year 2000 the FBI found at least 23,000 child pornography sites, 420 million pages of pornography, and over 500,000 online photos showing sexual acts involving minors, it becomes obvious that we need to be educated on Internet safety.

The Internet has spawned a new type of criminal, one who is constantly on the prowl in cyberspace looking for victims to prey upon for property, financial, and sexual type crimes. Our safety seminars are designed to educate even the most computer/Internet illiterate user. Knowledge and the understanding and application of that knowledge is power. Our Internet safety seminars provide the user with the needed safety knowledge, so that surfing cyberspace can be an enjoyable and safe experience.
