Seniors’ Safety
Although seniors often fear that they are prime targets for crime, such as assaults and robberies, statistically they are the least likely group to become the victim of a violent crime in our country. The real risk to our senior population is being targeted for a fraudulent crime. Our senior safety program will not only cover personal safety information, it will more importantly provide our seniors with the needed information to protect themselves from those who want to trick them out of their hard earned savings, via a variety of different cons and frauds.
Total Awareness For Seniors
Based upon our original “Total Awareness” program, this 3 hour safety seminar is specifically designed to provide seniors with Personal Awareness Strategies that will help to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of violence. Topic areas covered in this seminar include:
- Where will an attack most likely occur
- Who is your attacker and why do they attack
- Reducing the risks of being attacked
- What an attacker’s primary tool is and how you can take this advantage away
- How to increase your situational awareness
- The six types of street interviews that an attacker will use to see if you are a safe target
- Consumer cons and fraud prevention
- Elder abuse prevention
- Senior housing, and tenant’s rights
- Safety strategies for; home and apartments, walking the streets, cars and parking lots, ATM machines, public transit, harassing telephone calls, elevators.
